My Laptop stuffed up so now I can't access my files on my hard disk. I am currently using my laptop now with a botoable "gentoo linux" cd. It gives me options to run a test disk and things like that to recover my hard drive but all the terminology confuses me and I don't know how to use it. It says something about checking for unstable partions of the HDD and stuff like that, how do I recover my files? Are there alternatives like removing my hard drive from the laptop and connecting it to another computer?
